Description
The shrine of Santiago, or St. James the Great, is located in the 11th Century cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
In 1501 the Hospicio de los Reyes Catoloicos was built to provide a resting place for many pilgrims who retraced the journey of the body of Santiago as it was brought from the city of Padron to the city of Padron to the cathedral in Santiago where his relics now rest. A sea shell on the Santiago cross symbolizes that pilgramage.
