Description

This photo of the Wave was shot in early August just after a heavy rain. It is very difficult to see the Wave, only twenty permits per day are awarded by lottery from a pool of about 400 applicants. Summer is an excellent time to visit the Wave if you can bear the heat. Monsoon rains often fill this water pool and you can occasionally hear toads in the water croaking for mates. This image was shot about 90 minutes after sunrise so that the back wall was evenly lit, and so that afternoon winds would not yet have arrived.
