Working in her studio in Eugene, Oregon, Linda Anderson uses fabric, thread and paint to create stitched paintings full of texture and strong visual impact, as she tells stories of people around the world. Linda grew up in San Diego and traveled within Mexico much of her childhood and as an adult. Linda and her late husband and young daughter sailed from California to Trinidad and Tobago where they lived and worked for 10 years, returning to the states in 2008. She is a world traveler, experiencing and learning about many other cultures and the variety and uniqueness of humanity, which is shown in her artwork.
Linda studied at Otis Art Institute of Los Angeles County where she earned a BFA and MFA in Drawing. She also earned an MA in Counseling and worked as a therapist for a period of time. She has been in numerous exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. A multiple award winner, she has received many 1st place, Best in Show, Judge’s Choice, Outstanding Artistry and Viewer’s Choice awards. She is published in many art magazines, books, newspapers, and catalogs. She recently published a book of her art “What the Heart Feels”.
