Denize Katzen has been a member of The Sedona Arts Center since 2019 . Her work has been seen in numerous past exhibits including this years 12×12 Small Works show, The annual Members Show , and most recently The Element Of Sports exhibition . She was an actor, director and acting teacher in a past life in NYC and has reinvented herself as a visual artist since moving to Sedona . Denize’s love of all things theatrical is reflected in her paintings , drawings, and mixed media collage. Artist Statement : The following work celebrates family life within the gay community .Same sex families are increasingly recognized as valid and diverse family structures , challenging traditional notions of what constitutes a family . Sociological perspectives emphasize the importance of love , commitment and equality as a basis for family relationships regardless of sexual orientation .
