The following work celebrates family life within the gay community .Same sex families are increasingly recognized as valid and diverse family structures , challenging traditional notions of what constitutes a family . Sociological perspectives emphasize the importance of love , commitment and equality as a basis for family relationships regardless of sexual orientation .

Since moving to Sedona , Ms Katzen’s paintings have been seen on display in several exhibitions at The Sedona Art’s Center including “ What Sedona Means To Me “ , “The Big Gay Art Show “” The Surrealism Show “, “The Number’s Show as well as several “Member’s Shows”. Her Frida Fridge Art Magnets are being sold with proceeds going to The Art’s Center at the ongoing “Celebrate Sedona '' festival. .Denize’s newly published children’s book “Curtain Up Light The Lights Magical Bird Acts Tonight “ is available on Amazon.

About the artist

Biography

Denize Katzen has been a member of The Sedona Arts Center since 2019 . Her work has been seen in numerous past exhibits including this years 12×12 Small Works show, The annual Members Show , and most recently The Element Of Sports exhibition . She was an actor, director and acting teacher in a past life in NYC and has reinvented herself as a visual artist since moving to Sedona . Denize’s love of all things theatrical is reflected in her paintings , drawings, and mixed media collage.
