Having painted throughout childhood, I studied art at McGill and Concordia Universities in Canada, although I was never in a Fine Arts program. Until 1977, I lived in Montreal, Canada then moved to California. I returned to Canada to live in 2004 and lived there until 2017 when we retired and moved to Prescott, Arizona. Although I worked in non-art businesses for 43 years, creating art using different mediums was always part of my life – hand built pottery, stained glass and painting beginning in the early 1990s.

While living in British Columbia, I was an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). FCA afforded me many opportunities to participate in juried art shows and to learn from artists such as Stephen Quiller, Brian Atyeo, Brent Heighten, Janice Robertson, Brent Lynch, Mike Svob, Harold Allanson and others.

Now that we live in the Central Highlands surrounding Prescott, we have a feast for the eyes throughout the year with each season adding its own distinct variation. Cougar, coyotes, deer and javelinas roam throughout our neighborhood while hawks and golden eagles soar overhead. Inspiration springs forth and manifests itself in my studio where I create fanciful and impressionistic interpretations of my everyday life and surroundings. Visiting and living in Arizona has enabled me to study with Larisa Aukon, Derek Penix, Betty Carr, Julie Gilbert Pollard and Robert Goldman.

The favorite part of my day is creating art moments when I paint my stories and anecdotes. Currently, I am a member of The Mountain Artists Guild in Prescott and the Sedona Arts Center. While I work primarily with oils and acrylic paints, I integrate acrylic and alcohol inks, collage papers and stenciling into many of my more whimsical paintings, as well as continue to paint impressionist landscapes, animals, birds and flowers. I hope you enjoy my artistic creations.
