Claudia was born in California, but raised in Kentucky and Georgia. From the time she was old enough to hold something in her hand she began to draw on anything available: the smooth sand at the beach; the underside of the bark of her native Georgia pine trees; or rocks, using the charcoal leftover from girl scout camp outs.

She earned a BFA degree as an honor graduate in 1967 from the University of Georgia. She has enjoyed a successful career selling her art as well as teaching for many years in her Atlanta studio.Drawn by the light and the “wildness” of the Southwest she moved to Phoenix Arizona and lived there 16 years, and enjoyed the desert settings. She moved back to the east coast in 2010 to be near family, residing in a beach house on Isle of Palms, and then in Charleston, S.C.

Most recently Claudia recently has moved to Sedona AZ and as always her newest paintings reflect her new environment. She shows her work at Bonner David Gallery in Scottsdale.

“My paintings reflect my travels around the United States, Provence, Switzerland, Iceland, and Ireland. My enthusiasm for my new home is very apparent in the exuberant paintings and can best be described as ‘happy’.”
