My education background is a BA from the University of Wisconsin. I worked as a reading specialist and a team member in a class room for emotionally disturbed children. My interest in water color painting began in 1995. After retiring from teaching and moving to Sedona in 2000, I began studying and working at my passion.

In 2002, I was able to combine my love for teaching and painting by becoming the teacher for a water color class at the Sedona Community Center. I am still teaching there and holding various workshops.

I am a Juried and Signature member of the Northern Arizona Watercolor society. I have studied with Gretchen Lopez at the Sedona Arts Center. I have also taken numerous workshops from nationally known artists such as: Carla O’Conner, Frank Webb, and Cheng Khee Chee. My paintings have been juried into shows at the Sedona Arts Center, the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society, and the Arizona Aqueous National Exhibition in Tubac. I have received several awards, including Best of Show at the 2018 NAWS Experimental Show, and Second and Third Place honors at the 2011 Juried Members Show at Sedona Arts Center.

In the last few years, I have been taking sculpting classes with Joyce Killebrew. I continue to take classes and expand my knowledge in t he field of art.
