“As you can see from my work I am fixated on land and sky.” I translate those impressions into painted expressions with my oil paint. I apply the paint with certainty of brush strokes to express the jaggedness and the strength of the land. The southwest is a land of earthy colors of reds, ochres against the blue sky. There are times when I see the beauty of the land and I have to stop and begin painting on location to remember that scene and color.

I am always drawn to the irresistible forces that seem to bring me close to earth. The more I experience the Southwest architecture and geology, the more I have to paint to express the beauty I see.
