Join ceramic artist Johnny Arvizu for a one-day demonstration exploring wheel throwing, off-the-hump techniques, and form alteration. Throughout the workshop, Johnny will share his personal approach to creating functional pottery—including bowls, mugs, cups, bottles, pitchers, tea bowls, and decorative vases—while discussing the relationship between form, function, and balance. Demonstrations will focus on efficient off-the-hump throwing methods for smaller forms, as well as a variety of alteration and finishing techniques used to add depth, movement, and character to thrown work. Topics will include trimming, reshaping, surface refinement, and thoughtful considerations behind each form.
