LeAnne (Mawby) Sowa is a watercolor artist who has been painting for over 30 years. She started drawing as a child and took art, drawing and mechanical drafting in High school.
She’s been exhibiting her work since 1988, including numerous shows over the years in Michigan where she is originally from. LeAnne received the honor of the Cora Bliss Taylor Award in July 2011 and the Judy and Tom Anthrop Award July 2013 at the Saugatuck Waterfront Invitational. Her painting, “Glass Garden” was a finalist in the 2013 Loeschner Art Competition at Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
LeAnne’s Art has been purchased by The Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, McLaren Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan, Greenville Metro Health in Greenville, Michigan, Metro Health Park East in Grand Rapids, Michigan, The Homestead in Glen Arbor, Michigan, and Mercantile Bank in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Her art is in national and international collections.
LeAnne is married, with two daughters, four grandsons. She lives just outside of Sedona, Arizona where she works from her home studio.
