Biographical Statement
I am an emerging artist who began working with clay/stoneware in 2003 through local art classes and eventually self -teaching. Education: Ceramics, Sculpture. My work is primarily constructed using ceramic slab / hand building techniques and are fired in an electric kiln to stoneware temperatures.
Artist Statement
My style is evolving and can be described as naturally geometric with an organic twist. The creative power of ceramics has enabled me to express my ideas in many different ways. I am drawn to clay because of the infinite ways it will let me transform it. Texture, patterns and natural forms are a particular source of inspiration. I am in a continuing process of experimentation and evolution of style and I want my work to invoke a visual satisfaction. Inspiration is never a problem … I find it in everything.
