Belsy Trigueros is a Mexican-American artist from Somerton AZ, with an emphasis in Ceramics. She started at her community college and took various art courses but truly stuck with ceramics. Eventually, she accepted her passion for ceramics and decided to pursue it at NAU. Similar to most Latin American, she came from a devout Catholic family and so, she derived inspiration from both her religious and her Hispanic Hertiage to translate into her art, regardless of the medium. Aside from her heritage, she has an intense fascination with, and application of eyes in her art. Though she is a ceramicist, she focuses on the sculptural aspect of the material rather than the functional forms.
