Dear Friends,
As I write this, Spring is in full bloom – and you can tell people have been cooped up for a while – because they are certainly out and about enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve been having.
I am now 2+ months on the job and am starting to feel like things are falling in to place. I have been able to meet more and more people (some actually in-person) and plans are beginning to shape up for the future.
AZ Gives Day is Tuesday, April 6 and we are well on our way to making, and even surpassing, our goal! If you haven’t already done so, please consider a gift (or an additional one) to the Arts Center this year. The pandemic has been extremely hard on us – revenue is down about $500,000 from a “normal” year. We have been able to stay afloat due to generous contributions from people like you. So please consider something extra in support of the Center.
Planning is underway for events and workshops once we can safely all be in-person again. Our goal is to gradually hold more and more face-to-face activities after August. We are following federal CDC recommendations and hope that as more Americans get vaccinated it will be safe to gather once again.
Keep checking our website as we are adding workshops daily. We have a few poetry workshops online that you might want to check out with Brian Evans Jones at the end of April, and in September; and a new artist (Carol Douglas) offering a Plein Air Workshop in-person this fall. My goal is to expand our offerings with new teaching artists and new genres. If you have a specific art form you would like us to offer, please let us know and we will pursue it.
Thanks again for your support of Sedona Arts Center.
In the meantime, stay safe.
Warmly,
Julie A. Richard
Executive Director
