Ellen Taylor is a portrait/narrative painter and sculptor. She has had the honor of being President of the Board Of Control of The Art Students League of New York. While at the League, Ellen studied with Sharon Sprung (Painter of the official White House portrait of Michelle Obama), Greg Kreutz, Dan Gheno, Thomas Torak and Anthony Antonio among others. Ellen now lives on a dirt road on a ridge overlooking Sedona, Arizona. She paints, hikes, volunteers, plays the Shakuhachi and blues piano.
Artist Statement:
Faces tell our stories. They are the most compelling part of our anatomy. We are all drawn to them, sometimes making life-changing decisions based on their expressions. I find it irresistible to paint the human face. It is a powerful experience.
