After graduating from the University of Montana in 2017 with a BFA, I attended Iowa State University and received an MFA in integrated art. I have continued to work as a ceramic artist in my hometown of Denver. It is my goal to create meditative objects and find meaning in repetition. Most of my current work is hand-built with slabs and decorated with patterned surfaces. I use hard carved-stamps and custom-made 3D printed rollers and stamps to apply patterns and designs. My references include architecture, furniture, graphics, and more to create unique patterns to ceramics. There is always a contrast between the exactness of the geometric patterns and the looseness of glaze and clay as a material.
