Step into the clay kitchen, where imagination is always on the menu! In this three-hour hands-on workshop, young makers will transform simple lumps of clay into their very own plates, cups, and bowls! Using fun and beginner-friendly handbuilding techniques, students will learn how to shape, smooth, and decorate a cup and a plate, then each student will be assisted on the pottery wheel to make a bowl to complete the set!
All materials included.
No prior clay experience is needed – just curiosity and a willingness to get a little messy. Finished pieces will be fired in the kiln and ready for pickup on a later date.
What Campers Will Learn & Create:
- Foundational Techniques: In this 3-hour class, young clay artists will learn how to shape, smooth, and decorate a cup and a plate, then each student will be assisted on the pottery wheel to make a bowl to complete the set!
- Surface Design & Glazing: After they build their imaginative creation, they will add colors of their choice by painting on bright underglazes.
Class Highlights:
- Inspired Design: Students are encouraged to lean into their imagination, have fun and bring their individual ideas to life.
- Structured Learning: Students receive guidance on how clay behaves and how to build sturdy structures.
- Materials Included: Tuition covers all clay, glazes, and firings. Due to the nature of the medium, some projects will be fired after class ends and will need to be picked up at a later date. Shipping options are available upon request.
