Get Mugged with Megan Berry

Sunday  | December 20, 2026 | 10 am – 2 pm  | All Levels |  Dennis Ott Ceramics Studio

In this playful and interactive hand-building ceramics workshop, students will create two custom mugs full of personality and charm. Explore foundational hand-building techniques such as slab and coil construction while experimenting with texture, organic form, and creative expression. Participants will be encouraged to loosen up, think outside the box, and get a little funky with their designs while creating functional pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind. No previous pottery experience needed.

 

What You’ll Experience:

  • Foundational Techniques: With guidance from Megan, explore the different techniques in hand building.
  • Independent Project Work: This class encourages the students to use their knowledge and imagination to create unique and functional mugs. 

Class Highlights:

  • Hands-On Support: Megan will offer one-on-one assistance and offer demonstrations to showcase different types of hand building.
  • Included Materials: Includes clay, glazes, and firings.
  • Pottery Tools: Optional 9-piece tool kits are available for $15, though purchase is not required for the class.

 

Age Requirement:

Ceramics workshops are designed for persons aged 18 and over, or with instructor approval.

Megan Berry

Megan Berry grew up in Sedona, where the desert landscape and slower rhythm of life continue to influence her creative perspective. A lifelong maker, she has always been drawn to creating with her hands — from sewing and knitting to natural dyeing and pottery. When she discovered handbuilding ceramics, a spark ignited within her, leading her into a deeply self-directed artistic exploration and evolution.

Inspired by organic shape, texture, and form, Megan embraces an intuitive, Wabi-Sabi approach to making. Her work celebrates imperfection, natural movement, and the quiet beauty found in handmade forms. Through her teaching, she encourages students to move beyond rigid expectations and reconnect with creativity in a freer, more instinctive way.

Megan is passionate about helping others uncover their own creative voice while sharing the grounding and joyful experience of working with clay and handmade arts.

 

Pottery Tools – There are 9-piece tool kits available for purchase in the Ceramics Studio for $15 per kit. Purchase of the tool kit is not required to take the class.

Cancellation Policy

Registration and Cancellation Policies

Registration

  • Each student must enroll individually.
  • Classes must be paid in full upon registration.
  • Students may register online or call Sedona Arts Center Office at 928-282-3809, Ext 1 or toll free at 866-282-3809 Ext 1.
  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express are accepted or student may pay with cash or check by registering in person during office hours Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.

In-Person and Online Classes Cancellation

  • Payment in full is due upon registration, or a payment plan can be put in place by the student upon check-out through Sezzle.
  • There is a $50 Cancellation Fee for any cancellations made before November 20, 2026. Remaining balance will be refunded.
  • There are no refunds after November 20, 2026.
  • If Sedona Arts Center cancels the workshop for any reason, all payments made will be refunded in full.

Note: If traveling to Sedona, we strongly urge students to purchase refundable airline tickets or travel insurance in case of workshop cancellation due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen changes. Sedona Arts Center is not responsible for non-refundable ticket purchases or lodging fees.

Important Message

Sedona Arts Center is not responsible for providing make-up sessions or issuing refunds, credits, or transfers for courses missed as a result of illness, emergencies, or other events beyond our control. There are absolutely no refunds after the cut-off date for any reason, unless Sedona Arts Center has to cancel the workshop, then all fees paid will be refunded in full.
