Looking to take your surface decoration and wheel throwing skills to the next level? In this workshop we will focus on a variety of surface treatments and alteration techniques to help develop work that is truly unique to you.
What You’ll Learn:
- Design Concepts: Learn to integrate rhythm, balance, and harmony into your work to create more thoughtful surface designs and forms.
- Skills: Learn to make Terra Sigillata and try out surface techniques like sgraffito, mishima and distressing. We will also alter wheel thrown pots to create a variety of interesting shapes.
- Projects: We will work on leather hard pots to try out new ideas and work on a collaborative cup together to help integrate concepts

– Form Alteration

– Collaborative Cup
Class Details:
- Limited Enrollment: Ensures personalized attention and a collaborative learning environment.
- All Levels Welcome: *some basic wheel experience is necessary*
What to Bring:
- Brushes & carving tools of your choosing
- Stamps & texture tools
- Something that inspires you ex: fabric, photographs, color chips, etc.
- Sketchbook
- Basic wheel throwing tools

Age Requirement:
Ceramic workshops are designed for persons aged 18 and over, or with instructor approval.
