Dear Friends,
I can’t believe summer is just around the corner. The past few months have flown by – probably because we are all up to our eyebrows in planning for full re-opening in August.
We just held our first in person event since the pandemic started – an Afternoon Tea for our Patron’s Circle members, held in our parking lot. It was great fun and I think everyone was overjoyed to re-connect and hear about our plans for the future. Because of our fantastic donors, our School and our Gallery, we have been able to weather COVID-19 without a devastating effect on our operation. We are financially sound but have experienced a significant reduction in earned revenue because of closures. We adapted. We pivoted. We endured.
And now the light is at the end of the tunnel.
Our first new event will help us connect more directly to our community. Celebrate Local will launch on August 4 and will repeat on the first Wednesday of every other month from 4PM – 6PM in the Arts Center parking lot. We will feature local musicians and artists and will keep our Gallery open later on those days. Local food and drink will be featured through an array of food trucks and we will offer wine and beer for sale. Depending on the time of year, the exhibits that are being offered and other programs we are featuring, the theme of each event will vary to provide greater diversity and connection to our community.
We have much more planned as the year unfolds so please stay tuned. And look for in person workshops starting soon!
Take care and be safe,
Julie A. Richard
