February News — 2026

Greetings!

We have so much going on this month, I am going to jump right in….

First, Vision + Sound: An African American Experience opens TONIGHT, Friday, February 6 at Celebrate Sedona from 4-6PM. Since the weather will be GREAT, we will be outside. The band, Just Common, is performing and artist, Isse Maloi, is demonstrating. As usual, we will have beer, wine and water for sale as well as some light hors d’oeuvres to munch on.

Vision + Sound: An African American Experience is a multi-city program. We partner with the cities of Goodyear, Peoria and Tolleson on this program as well as the ASU Center for the Study of Race + Democracy. It is a very special program that shines light on African American artists living in Arizona. There are concerts and workshops and lectures and demos and a symposium that are all part of the “experience”. And we hope you check out everything that is happening both here and in our partner cities.

I’d especially like to encourage you to attend the Vision + Sound Symposium on February 27 in partnership with the ASU Center for the Study of Race + Democracy. This year’s theme is Facing the Future: The Arts and the Power of Community. It is FREE to attend but you must register at the link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-vision-sound-symposium-feb-27th-tickets-1977517466977?aff=oddtdtcreator

You can find everything else happening with Vision + Sound in Sedona, Goodyear, Peoria and Tolleson here: https://visionandsound.org

This amazing program is supported by the Flagstar Foundation, and the Cities of Sedona, Goodyear, Peoria and Tolleson as well as our season sponsors: City of Sedona, Kling Family Foundation, AZ Commission on the Arts, Best Western Arroyo Roble Hotel and Creekside Villas, AZ Community Foundation, and West Valley Art Museum.

If you are an artist, please consider applying to participate in our Sedona Entrepreneurial Artists Development or SEAD program – deadline to apply is February 15th. This is a workforce development program designed to provide artists the business skills necessary to take their entrepreneurial businesses to the next level. You can find more information about this wonderful program at https://sedonaartscenter.org/call-to-artists/sedona-artist-entrepreneurial-development-program-sead/

Don’t forget to check out our FEATURED ARTISTS in the Gallery Shop – they are Sharon McGinnis, Laura Bloomenstein and Sharon Gilham. Their work will be featured until the end of February so please come check it out.

I hope to see you tonight at Celebrate Sedona!

Warmly,
Julie A. Richard, CEO
Sedona Arts Center
