Dive into the luminous world of fused glass as we capture the magic of Ireland’s Mulranny seashore in shimmering layers of color and light! Join Amy Light at Mulranny Arts in this hands-on workshop. You’ll explore both fused glass and torch techniques to bring an underwater world to life — from graceful seaweed and playful fish to the glimmering textures of the ocean floor.

Learn to cut and shape glass, create your own frit and powder-paint details, and sculpt delicate sea creatures using the torch. By the end, you’ll have built a stunning three-dimensional glass seascape—a one-of-a-kind keepsake that can be safely packed in your luggage and taken home to treasure.

No prior experience needed — just your creativity and love of the sea!

Two tours are included in the tuition:

  • A full day guided tour of Achill Island taking the Wild Atlantic Way route.
  • Half Day Tour – A visit to the ruins of beautiful Burrishoole Abbey and the Pirate Queens Castle, Furnace Lake and the Old Irish Goat Center and the Gift of Hands Craft Shop.

Amy Light

Amy Light

Amy Light is an orthodontist turned fused glass and ceramic artist based in Sedona, Arizona.  Her vibrant, light-filled glass works celebrate color, nature, and joy. Working out of her home studio, Amy creates kiln-formed glass pieces that range from evocative landscapes to functional plates—but she is best known for her “suncatchers.”

Amy’s ceramic sculptures reflect her lifelong love for bunnies, a source of comfort and joy from childhood. Each piece carries its own unique personality, from playful and whimsical to elegant and serene. The angel bunny emerged spontaneously, inspired by the sense of angels around us. Amy’s work embodies a sense of fun and approachability, contributing to the diverse tapestry of ceramics at the Sedona Art Center.  “Through my art, I hope to share this joy and inspiration with others.”   Through the nurturing and lessons given by Dennis Ott, Amy’s artistry emerged and bunnies hopped forth.

Please bring basic glass tools-glass scorer, breaking pliers, nipper pliers, and safety glasses.
