He is currently attending Northern Arizona University working towards a degree in studio art with an emphasis in Ceramics. Kerrins has shown nationally including Strictly Functional 2024 and 8209’ a group exhibition that he helped curate. His work relates to how he interprets the natural environment that surrounds him. As he makes, he strives to create pieces that focus on points of high contrast with the forms, textures and colors that he uses. After working at Anderson Ranch Art Center during the 2024 workshop season he is interested in continuing to develop his own voice through use of specialized clay, slip, and firing techniques. Using primarily soda and wood firing he is constantly researching and testing materials and firing methods to create a dynamic surface that embodies the American southwest.
