Desert Genesis by Breezy Liddicott Stein EFC

My hands have always been making—many mediums over many years—and they have come to rest quite happily with clay. I grew up in the countryside of southeast Idaho, where I spent my days immersed in reading, long drives with my mother, and studying the local flora and fauna—experiences that continue to inspire my work. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Brigham Young University of Idaho, drawn to ceramics for its physicality, longevity, and rich history. During my studies, I became interested in the natural world's textures, patterns, and forms, curious about how these could be expressed in clay. My work reflects a desire to recreate the tactile beauty of nature, inviting others to pause and reconnect with the physical environment. In an age of advancing technology, I believe handmade objects help ground us, inviting reflection and a deeper sense of place.
