Nancy’s sister, Donna, gifted her a bead loom. She is inspired by the ancient history and relative culture of beading. She creates organically and intuitively, weaving with Miyuki Glass Seed Beads. Miyuki beads are an essential part of Japanese textile and jewelry-making traditions, with a long history of craftsmanship and precision. Her beadwork may include the use of crystals, a variety of Jaspers, Turquoise, Carnelian, Onyx, Tiger’s Eye, Quartz, Opalite, Lapis Lazuli and Labradorite and Mother of Pearl and Crystals. Nancy grew up in the Midwest. A 15-year culinary career included intricate plate design (Nouvelle Cuisine), corporate catering, intimate dinner parties to large scale catered events of up to several hundred guests Her 20-year healthcare career provided her the opportunity to reside in Las Vegas and Blue Diamond in Nevada, Taos, New Mexico and now, Prescott, Arizona. There is no other place she would rather be than the Southwest. She met her husband, Phillip in Blue Diamond, Nevada, and their first date was a moonlight hike. A registered yoga teacher, she has taught for the city of Las Vegas, and from her home studio in Blue Diamond. She currently subs at a climbing gym and teaches classes for neighbors with the proceeds going to a women’s homeless shelter.
