Tim Steinmann is a potter based in Flagstaff, Arizona, and is currently a post-baccalaureate student at Northern Arizona University. He holds a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in ceramics from Utah Valley University. After graduation, Tim completed an 18-month apprenticeship with wood-fired potter Kevin Crowe in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Growing up in Utah, Tim spent countless hours exploring its diverse and unique landscapes. Like the varied geography of Utah, wood-fired pottery offers a rich range of colors and surface effects, inviting exploration and reflection in each piece.
