KATHY LAMONTAGNE was born and raised in California where she lived an active artistic and nature-filled life.

Kathy graduated from Stanford University in the late 70s with a BA in painting/drawing and Art History.   Immediately after college, Kathy moved to Eugene OR  and has lived in Eugene ever since.  For the last 45 years, Kathy has worked as a professional interior designer, owning her own company, K.J.L. Interior Design.  She sold the business in 2019 and then COVID hit.  What to do?  Naturally, she picked up her paint brushes again and, what started out as a distraction from the year 2020, developed into a true passion and commitment.

Kathy considers herself a lifelong learner.  She immersed herself in classes, books, videos – anything and everything  that could further her knowledge and technique.  Jean Haines, Jo Dunnick, Sandra Pearce and Chris Stubbs are some her most beloved local and international influences and mentors.

Most of Kathy’s inspiration is drawn directly from nature and simple, everyday subjects.  Her belief is that beauty can be found anywhere – you just have to look!
