Hailing from Ohio, Lee Willett is an American-born, Swiss-trained artist and designer who seamlessly blends the worlds of art, photography, typography, and information design. Lee’s artistic journey began with an undergraduate degree from Ohio State, followed by immersive studies at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland. There, he studied drawing, photography, and color theory, shaping the foundation of his diverse skill set. His design career is adorned with accolades from AIGA, Print Magazine, Art Director’s Club, and Type Director’s Club, among others. His artwork has been accepted into juried exhibitions nationally and internationally. A former design instructor, Lee Willett currently resides in the New York area and enjoys trail and ultra running and manages a local running group—sundayruns.org. Starting on January 1, 2023, he embarked on the captivating “All These Miles” series—a visual journal meticulously chronicling his every run combining photographs taken that day with the route, distance, elevation profile, and pace. To date, he has created over 550 works documenting over 5,000 miles including runs through the Grand Canyon, the Alps, the Pacific Northwest, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In the fall of 2025, he plans to create pieces based on a 240 mile race through the desert of Utah. His work can be seen at LeeWillett.art.
