I am a new transplant to AZ. I have always lived up north and my original works reflected that environment. I have owned and operated two galleries in Pacific Northwest, along with creating works in several genres shown in other private galleries and artist owned galleries in both Montana and Idaho. Since moving to Arizona I have embraced the warm colors and styles of the Southwest.
My metal embossed pieces begin with heavy metal foils in copper, brass and aluminum. They are embossed using multiple plastic embossing folders that are run through a rolling mill. I use alcohol inks to color and then begin the process of cutting and assembling my mosaics. They are somewhat like a jigsaw puzzle that I get to design and assemble! I sometimes use glass tile beads to add a little more dimension.
