“Barbara’s work is all about the passion for black and white. She has the ability to build depth into her photography that comes through the use of light and all the tones of black to paint a scene with light. The goal is to allow the viewer to see the vision she has produced in her art. The light and shadow allow for what might have been just a two-dimensional photo into a scene that begs the viewer to imagine walking in the scene themselves.
Her first exhibition was at the San Diego County Fair, where she won her first award which was followed by many more over the years. She has been shown and won awards at several galleries such as Carlsbad Oceanside Art League, Front Porch Gallery, Oceanside Museum of Art, and at Ashton Gallery. She has also been published through Lens Work Publishing in several of their publications. She continues to find new subjects for her black and white photography and finding new avenues to help her share her art.”
