This photo documents my most recent pilgrimage to the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco—the world’s largest leather and fetish festival. More than just a street fair, Folsom represents a vital reclamation of LGBTQ+ space and identity. By capturing these moments on 35mm Ilford HP5 PLUS film, I aim to preserve the raw, unapologetic energy of the leather community through a classic documentary lens. These 11”x14” silver gelatin prints are hand-developed on Ilford’s multigrade warmtone semi-matte paper, a choice intended to lend a tactile, human warmth to the subversive and the bold.
