Christine Debrosky has been inspired by the Southwestern landscape since moving here in 2008.
She grew up in New York state's Hudson Valley, where she honed her painting skills, painting en plein air in all seasons. The proximity to world class museums and galleries were an integral part of her education. She has exhibited her watercolor, pastel and oil paintings across the US and Europe. Her impressionistic work has earned her signature membership in such groups as The Pastel Society of America, American Women Artists, and the American Impressionist Society, to name just a few. This past August, her painting " Rio Verde Tarde won " Best of Show", at Visions of the Verde, a Smithsonian sponsored exhibition adding to her numerous " best ", and other awards. In April, 2020, she was invited as an American woman guest artist to participate in "Pastels du Monde" in Montlucon France. Her work has been featured in numerous magazine articles, for such publications as Southwest Art, Plein Air magazine, American Art Collector, and many others. She lives in Clarkdale, and works in a studio looking out towards Sedona's red rocks.
