Michele Naylor
A fearless color palette defines the work of Michele Cokl Naylor. She uses bold, vivid and seductive hues to prompt a reaction or to provoke a mood. Color, textures and unexpected patterns are the language she employs across a range of media. She has created a series of mixed media using Arizona’s beloved saguaros. Michele lives in Cottonwood, Arizona with her husband, Roger, and a gang of color-coordinated cats. I am fascinated by history, It gives me an understanding of humans and my place within that species. With a photograph you actually hold a small piece of history in your hands. I combine photos with digital art to create the greeting cards. Some are haunting, others nostalgic but many are humorous. Humans are often ridiculous and we need to laugh at ourselves.
Mixed Media on Board, Acrylic Paint, Painted Paper and Mulberry Paper.
