Sacred Memories by Nath Raye BGAS25

Nath Raye
After 10 years of curious learning, Nath has established a sculpting process that is ever evolving, making each creation a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art… not found anywhere else around the world. Nath draws inspiration from the beauty etched and embedded within each cactus piece’s strong, enduring fibers, which embody resilience and strength. Once the design takes shape in her mind, the cactus fibers are meticulously hand-formed, sculpted, and painted. Mounted on found fossil wood from the Sonoran desert, the result is a harmonious blend of hard and soft cactus fibers, united with a silky, luminous sheen. Each sculpture is finished with multiple layers of UV-protective clear coat and mounted on a carefully chosen piece of petrified wood that enhances the unique sculpture. Sacred Memories celebrates the wisdom, strength, and sacred traditions of the cultures that are woven into the very fabric and fiber of The People, serving to inspire support of democratic freedoms for generations to come. Just as justice and human rights are fought for through grassroots efforts, Nath Raye harvests from the strong skeleton of a Prickly Pear Cactus on an intricate piece of fossil wood found in the Sonoran Desert. It is then mounted on Arizona petrified wood from the Triassic period, over 250,000,000 million years ago. Hand-painted with transparent acrylic colors, and given an archival museum finish to ensure years of luminous color. Let freedom reign.
