Supplies:
Supplies for this workshop are listed on my website. This is a very comprehensive list and there are things that you can certainly opt out of to make travel easier.
Supplies You Can Leave At Home:
You will not need to bring your varnish or spray varnish. You do not have to have decorative papers or deli paper if you do not want to but you will need the rice paper and found papers. You will not need pens to sign your work or hanging hardware.
Supports:
This workshop focuses on techniques rather than one project. I will teach various techniques but they will likely not cover every aspect of every reference image. For that reason I would like to supply everyone with one specific reference image that will incorporate the techniques I will demonstrate in the workshop. Please be prepared to have one 12×16 or 16 x 16 support.
Homework:
I have prepared a reference photo which incorporates many landscape techniques for us to practice with and work on–water, reflections, sky, greenery, hills, rocks. You may choose your own photo if you like, but I encourage you to work from this photo of Cathedral Rock / Red Rock Crossing so that we can all learn from each other and touch on as many landscape techniques as possible. Please print this photo out on regular paper to the size of your substrate. I suggest 12×16 or 16×16, the linked files are sized to these proportions. Download the reference image at 16 x 16 here
I will have some stencils to share, I will have a few pieces of punchinella, I will have a few texture rubbing plates, I will have one or two Princeton wedges.
I will have stencils and 1 oz. paint in limited colors, available for purchase at the workshop.
