This will be a LIVE Online class.
Elizabeth St. Hilaire is collaborating with the Sedona Arts Center in order to present her Fabulous Florals! as an online workshop. The experience will be comprehensive, just as if she were teaching here in Sedona. The workshop will be presented via Zoom Meetings and Chat, video conferencing with real-time messaging and content. (Zoom.us)
Using multiple cameras and a fully interactive platform, Elizabeth will demonstrate, guide, and critique students while sharing her screen, her face, 🙂 her worktable, and easel. Elizabeth will send a detailed email in order to prepare students for the workshop. As a bonus, she will provide two weeks of follow-up consultation to each student after the completion of the online workshop.
Students will receive a link via email to begin each session. Simply gather your materials, get ready, and click the link to join the Zoom meeting and virtual classroom.
This workshop will be accessible through computer, tablet or smart phone. NOTE: tablet or computer is recommended.
Join us virtually from the comfort of your own home, and maybe even your PJs…All you need is art supplies and an internet connection!
Students will draw florals from their own still-life setup or photograph; modifying it to create a compelling, fun composition. We’ll cover how to paint your life drawing with full range of fun, bright colors and shading. You will then learn how to hand-paint your own collage papers through a series of gel plate mono-printing techniques in the color palette inspired by your underpainting. After creating your ‘paper palette’ you will learn various techniques for tearing and applying the paper in a ‘painterly’ manner. Elizabeth will also cover how to keep your pieces perfectly flat without cockling and how to vary your paper brush marks strategically in size and shape.
During this comprehensive three-day workshop you will learn a unique figurative mixed media collage technique. Emphasis will be on defining form using light and shadow, and treating every torn tidbit of paper as a brush stroke. Students will create impressionistic collages that look like paintings.
This class is focused on learning and growing creatively in a FUN environment. No prior collage experience is necessary. All levels are welcome.
Class meets 10:00am – 5:00pm with a one hour lunch break. Note: Pacific Time
