Heads Up! With Christine Golden
Experience rendering a life-size human head
November 2, 2025 9AM – 4PM | Dennis Ott Ceramics Studio
This one-day workshop we will be using the slab technique as our main form of construction and exploring the expressive nature of the human face while learning techniques that will provide a foundation for making a realistic adult head. Anatomical lessons and demonstrations of the nose, eyes, mouth, ears, hair and neck will be provided.
What You’ll Learn:
- Design Concepts: Learn to integrate scale, proportion, realism, balance, and expression into your work.
- Skills: Learn slab techniques and anatomical lessons to create your own life-size human head.
- Projects: We will work on creating the beginnings of a realist life-size human head with a neck and hair. Students should not expect to have a finished piece, but have all the instruction on how to begin, refine, and ultimately finish the piece after the workshop.
