Hi, I am Sterling West, an Arizona native and Sedona based artist whose passion for painting stems from a unique perspective on the world. Born with eye damage, I started life seeing the world just a little bit differently, and it is through this lens that I discovered the joy of painting. Starting as a form of emotional expression, I quickly realized anything was possible with imagination. One day I came across a quote that said "I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it". I realized that art as an expression was one thing, but turning a dream into reality took some learning and practice. So I invested time to learn how to do things I had never done before. I now spend a lot of my time painting large murals with only the primary colors and black and white. It has been a challenge to have a limited palette of colors. However I am grateful I stretch and push myself, I think that is where most of my growth has come from. I am excited for what growth lies ahead of me in 2023!
