Inspired by ancient ruins found in the Southwest, this abstracted image seeks to portray the faded remnants of a lost civilization and the home in which they dwelled. Against a backdrop of textured cliffs which are accented with bronze and copper metallic paints, the subtle building forms nestle in seclusion enjoying the protection provided by the surrounding cliffs. In contrast to the strong textured surface of the rock formations, the softer palette of the building forms suggests a small gathering of homes of those ancient dwellers. The image is surrounded by an off-white double mat protected by glass and placed in a gold- colored wood frame.
