Of all the art forms to love and work with, glass offers the most versatility. By nature, it compels light to work its magic through it. We can see a sunset or deep pool of water gazing into glass. It can represent mood, dimension, history, time, and potential. Nothing as a craft gives me more pleasure than exploring the many dimensions possible with glass. It is a craft I continue to explore and develop. This work represents a retrospection; as we age recollections of simpler times often lilt through thoughts. As I daydream I remember my 16th birthday and 16 burning candles. 16 orbs atop 16 glass rods were created in the flame with a torch. Now at age 63, I yearn for the simplicity of those teenage years. Using art glass as an expression, this series explores the ethereal aspect of aging.
