I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree from Wichita State University. I was a graphic designer for the first half of my career and a writer in the second half. My diverse experience includes owning a graphic design studio and being a Peace Corps volunteer. Travel to and living overseas has influenced my personal and professional sensitivities.

My creative endeavors have included photography and darkroom work. I was proprietor of a small press enterprise with an antique letterpress and offset printing equipment.

During my professional career I received numerous awards for publication design, photography, and writing. Recent art awards have been earned for representational and abstract works in acrylic, oil, and pastel.

For most of my life I painted representational subject matter but in recent years I concentrated on abstraction. I often use brushes and sign painting tools inherited from his father.
