The human form has always intrigued me, enough that I devolved my career to realism, softened with a touch of poetry. It is a humbling experience to work with a beautiful rock to produce a lovely form that people respond to. My sculpture has also benefitted from my curiosity with casting bronze. Since my first pour in 1972, I have worked in 20 different bronze foundries: 11 in Oregon, 8 in California and one in Mexico. There is always something new to learn. I have been honored to work with world class athletes and to make portraits of notable people. My sculpture has earned awards and commissions; it has been shown around the world.
