Jasmine grew up in South Florida to parents who were both artists.  Most of Jasmine’s creative life felt in the shadows of her parents’ artistic endeavors.  Although Jasmine has been working with different art forms most of her adult life, it has been primarily a personal growth exercise.  After a near death experience in 2022, Jasmine started creating more and more to heal and process.  Most of her art has come from found objects collected at various turning points in her life and used to create Art Brut as a self-trained artist.  Dear Edward Abbey, comes from one such experience.  After Jasmine’s divorce in 2023, she started collecting objects left by her ex including a large silicon strap-on dildo.  Through the grief of the divorce, Jasmine found herself listening to Desert Solitaire on audibook, crying, and eventually deciding to bead the strap-on into something completely different.  Dear Edward Abbey is about reconstructing meaning after a loss of self.
