Cas Holmes is an artist and author living in the U.K. She has a degree in Fine Arts and further scholarships led to her studying paper and textiles in Japan. Working between the disciplines of painting, drawing, and textiles, salvaged materials are torn, cut, and re-assembled to create mixed media pieces which draw their inspiration from ‘hidden’ or ‘overlooked’ observations of daily life. She works on community collaborations for public and private spaces and is represented in major collections including Arts Council England, Museum of Art and Design New York, and the Embroiderer’s Guild. Cas teaches internationally and has authored numerous books on textile art including: Connected Cloth, Urban Nature, The Found Object in Textile Art.
