A native New Yorker born in 1941, Bob Martin embarked on a lifelong artistic journey that began in the early 1950s. His formal training includes prestigious institutions and renowned artists, the N.Y. School of Visual Arts with Barry Zaid, and the Art Students League of New York, where he studied with Frank Reilly, Peter Cox, Harvey Dinnerstein, and David Lefell. He also spent a remarkable summer studying and painting with Ted Seth Jacobs at the L’Ecole Albert Defois, Les Cerqueux, France.  He has honed his skills and ignited his passion for creating evocative imagery with an additional visit to the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Renowned for his unique blend of vibrant colors, realism, and expressionism, Bob Martin’s work connects with viewers on an emotional level, as he explores themes of identity, memory, and the passage of time.

With a nearly six-decade career, Bob Martin’s art has been exhibited in prestigious galleries worldwide and has garnered critical acclaim. His pieces are sought after by discerning collectors and featured in private and corporate collections in the US, France, and England. As a seasoned artist with a proven track record, his work represents a valuable investment for art enthusiasts. While his artistic ability is unquestionable, his goal is, as he had said, “to discover a sincere interpretation of what it is to be alive and aware..
