Andres Juarez Troncoso is a visual activist based between El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico, whose work centers on identity, borders, and the politics of representation. His acclaimed project, The Spotless Others, has garnered international recognition, earning the Latin America Fotografía award in New York City and being named a finalist in prominent exhibitions such as the Oaxaca Biennial, the 12th Festival Internacional de Fotografía “Paraty em Foco,” Nexo Foto, Transversalidades – Fotografia sem Fronteiras, and the El Paso-Juarez Transborder Biennial.

Juarez Troncoso’s current project, A New Man, continues his exploration of identity, focusing on the transition of transgender male bodies in the United States and Mexico. This work was recently awarded “Best in Show” at PROUD+ in San Diego, California, and recognized as an “Outstanding Work” in the 2023 Photography of the Year (POY) Gender and Identity category, among other honors.

His photographs have been exhibited in solo and group shows across the United States, Brazil, Costa Rica, Israel, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Mexico. Through his lens, Juarez Troncoso remains committed to visual storytelling as a form of activism, using photography to challenge social narratives, elevate marginalized voices, and reimagine the boundaries of identity within transborder communities.
