After recently rediscovering a passion for painting and switching from watercolors to acrylics, Ali embarked on a journey to capture the male form and challenge societal boundaries. Ali asks what so many of us wonder: why is the nude female figure embraced and men’s bodies largely hidden from view?
Recognizing this as a reality, the Modesty Magnet series was deployed to attempt to have artwork with naked men be accepted into more exhibitions. These magnets, barely covering certain parts of the anatomy, serve as a cleverly cheeky way to ease viewers into seeing the male form without exposing everything at once. Unlike in the real world, Modesty Magnets can be removed and replaced as necessary.
