Over three days we will explore the world of "felting". In this wet felting experience we will make a hat over a resist and we will also make a "Nuno" felted scarf. We will use the third day for fine finishing and embellishments.

Felted Hat Over a Resist
The texture of fine merino wool and the vibrant colors make this a fun and exciting multimedia adventure into Fiber Art. You will make your own felt hat as a wet felted project with three optional styles over an inflatable ball. We will learn to lay out carded wool in layers, learn how to get your custom size, and various ways to block your hat. The end result will be a fun adorable felt hat that you will enjoy for years!

Nuno Felted Scarf
Nuno is a Japanese word for "cloth" We will make a beautiful felted scarf by learning to laminate together colored roving and dyed silk fabric. this is also a wet felting process that includes textural shrinkage effects and sizing changes. Multimedia surface design elements are included in this fun and whimsical project.

Day 1 Dye our scarf. Wet felt our hat and shape to dry.
Day 2 Make our Nuno Felted Scarf.
Day 3 Fine finish our hat and add embellishments.

TUITION: $300
