Learn to create amazing textures with unorthodox techniques in this unique workshop with Alan Wylie. Students will each choose an image to work with and learn to develop their piece in a step-by-step process starting with thumbnails to work out the composition, then careful drawing, and ultimately using gesso and traditional masking fluid to create elaborate textural interpretations.

Payment Options: Students may pay in full or choose the payment-plan option during registration. The payment plan requires a non-refundable $125 deposit with the balance due 30 days before the first day of the workshop.

About Alan Wylie:

C.S.P.W.C., AWS D.F., SFCA., NWWS., CIPA.,CWA, LWS.

Alan Wylie was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1938. In 1960, he graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a degree in Mural Design and Mosaics. He immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1967 and began a career as a full-time artist and teacher. In 1974, he moved to British Columbia and now lives in the historic village of Fort Langley with his artist wife, Janice Robertson. Alan has won numerous awards for his work including

Watercolor Wylie's Way - supply list

Sketch pad and pencils
Your usual watercolors, regular brushes
small jar of white gesso
palette knife, cloth rag
100% rag illustration board- Peterborough # 27 plate finish or # 79 tooth,
Alan will also bring boards for purchase
Also bring plenty of reference photos and sketches, especially ones that have some form of texture
